125g Peack/Hap stocking

hello MFK,

I just got into cichlids and I really want a 125g to be a peacock/hap tank. For filtration, i'll be using an fx 6 and maybe another one if necessary. Im doing my research but any tips will be gladly appreciated :) Anyways here are some of the haps im into:

Aulonocara Walteri
NimbochromidnVenustus
Electric blue fyeri
OB
Protomelas taeniolatus
Protomelas taeniolatus "Lupingu"
Taiwan reef
Otopharynx sp.”Heterodon Nankumba"
Otopharynx lithobates
Otopharynx tetrastigma
Otopharynx lithobates
Nimbochromis fuscotaeniatus
Red fin borleyi

Not all of them will be going into the same tank but I will select some of the few that I like. There's a lot more fish that I want but I can't list them all so anymore suggestions would be nice :)
 
Are you interested in all males or do you want breeding groups? Right now you have a mix of docile, like the otopharynx, and more aggressive species, like the nimbochromis. You'll also want species that don't resemble each other.

I wouldn't mind taking out the nimbochromis or anything too aggressive. I would like to have an all male tank also

This is the stocking list I had years ago when I had an all male 125. In an all male display tank it's always going to be a balancing act, so hope for the best, but plan for the worse. Have a back up plan for any fish that becomes hyper-dominant, or overly aggro. Good luck.

Alright I guess I will stick to about 18 fish that are less aggressive and more docile. Do you guys recommend having a few clown loaches or would that not work out? Im still searching for more fish to add on the list but right now I got a few on my mind
 
I've never tried them, but have wanted to. I've seen numerous all male tanks them though. I'm not sure how it works long term.
 
I know that lots do, but personally I would not add clown loaches. IMO they do better in less aggressive set ups.
