how about a tiger shovel nose or a red tailed cat they probely will out grow your tank but they would be fine for a while my tiger oscar and my RTxTSN are best pals the oscar sleeps next to the RTxTSN BUT

so what would i do when they outgrow my tank????

well you could sell it of buy a bigger tank second hand or make a ply tank or you cauld make it a pond thirs plenty of things you could do but i wasnt telling you to buy one i was giving a sugestion my RTxTSN is in a 300g tank in my garage whitch he will out grow so i will build a bigger one but its your choice what you get sorry to offend you

idea (1) you could do a planted discus set up with bog wood and plants with a nice big shoal of runne nose tetras
idea (2) 2-3 parrot cichlids 2 cigar sharks some medium gouramis like a opaline or a gold gourami
idea (3) 2 needle fish and a butter fly fish
idea (4) 3 silver dollars 1 red tailed shark 4 rams
idea (5) 3 red bellied piranhas

i would love an aro, but this is the largest tank ima have till after college, so i they need to be in here for life pretty much, I do like the blood parrot idea for the 55 once my oscar is out of there, i do almost have 2 small firemouths in it with him

i personly would do the parrots they are my favourite fish for the 55 but thats just my opinion

I've keep oscar and parrot together and with firemouths ans its all fine.

I would get two or three oscars, i do like them, and a few four line pimelodella cats, they look alot like pictus, but from my experience get a little bigger then pictus i believe up to 10-12"

the parrot i have is 8" and lives with 2 cigar sharks and some opaline gouramis some parrots live ok with bigger fish but some live better with fish that are much smaller than them wen i bourght my parrot it was in the tank with an oscar and some cigar sharks but i wouldnt mix them with oscars

or a Raphael Cat
