So I had an initial stocklist I was pretty much deadset on. Now that I actually have the tank up and running and it's cleared up and looking ready to go, the wife has decided she now wants to have some input on what fish we go with. Originally I had 1 carpintis vontehillo . As far as blue's go she saw an EBJD and really wants one of them. If I were to nix my original idea stocklist and try to build something relative to EBJD, how does this sound.

EBJD (#?)
Chocolate (#?)
Thorichthys passiones (#?)
(possibly some other fish insert here)
10-12 silver dollar
5-7" wood eating species plecos(4-5)

Thoughts? changes? Suggestions?
 
Not bad, but I had one of those large wood eating plecos, L027 and I had to sell him. The tank was filfthy on a daily occurence, and my nice piece of drfitwood dwindeled down to nothing.

I've got 2 XPL's as well as an AC110 + a koralia powerhead so I'm hoping it'll stay pretty clean, as far as crap on the bottom goes. I also got the longer extension for the python water change kit so cleaning the bottom every other day if need be wont be a hassle. When you say larger, which species was it and how big was it? The biggest one I'm looking at grows to 7" with most being 5"

The 3rd fish being the passiones? It's a yellow firemouth. You can see it in this thread years back here. Rapps has them.

As for the amount of SD's, that's what was suggested to me before in the previous idea stock I was coming up with, for schooling purposes. Would I want to lower that amount? They are 6 for 25$.

just sounds like a lot to me I never seen someone keep that many. honestly if I wer u I would get the 6 silver dollars then another 6 of some other schooling species so if the other cichlids decide they wanna terrorize the group theirs 2 separate groups swimming around to disperse the aggression

Of that list I don't see any of them chasing SD's around. The chocolate might nudge them once and awhile. With good aquascaping I think you will be fine.

I like your list, I would cap the SD at 6 they top out at about 6 inches but a dozen is a bit much. Also I would skip the wood eater.
