yes why_spyder im gonna get theme all as juveniles i think thats the right way of doing it, am i right lol? how do u all like my m to f ratio are my numbers ok? is there to many fish, not enuf? ill be on top of water changes on a weekley basis, how does 30 to 40 % sound?

opps i ment Aulonocara jacobfreibergi (Undu Reef) 1 m to 3 f

Protomelas Marginatus (turquoise) 1m to 3 f

also do u all see these fish being hard to find?? do i have enuf diff color and shapes where i dont have to worry about crossbreeding??

also keep a look out for a up coming new topic of maybe stocking all male ....that will come later on

thanks alot fish friends

no not hard to find, all pretty much well established in the hobby.

and yes that is a very good variety of size shape and colors. The only one that would come close to being similar is the Kandango and the Marginatus being a similar shape, but completely different colors... so works out... with all the females you shouldnt have any crossbreeding. Where are you going to get your stock?... I suggest Dave's Rare Fish... (no its not me) ha ha ha... they have a huge selection, and can get everything all at one place instead of going to place to place to find specific ones, I have never had a bad experience with them, and Dave the owner is a great guy and will do his best to get you exactly what you need

well the lfs in my area for the most part can get what im looking for (so they say) il have too go to 2 diff shops if i decide too do so, what i really wanna do is the right way and that is get my fish from daves, but is it gonna cost me a arm and a leg ordering and gettin theme ship over the net? was thinking get half the fish from daves and the other half from a diff online vender soo there wont be any inbreeding. also what i really wanna do is b/c i hear its the best way of doin is puttin all the fish in at the same time if anything at most a week or so part, what do u all think? with the numbers im lookin at and adding the Synodontis im lookin at around 28 fish is this number ok in a 125gallon 6 foot long tank? also i would like to get all juvis b/c i hear this is the best way of doin. now i know i cant just buy 4 or 5 of each and think im gonna get the ratio i want, so how many of each should i buy? what do i do with my extras?? will they be hard to get rid of? with the Synodontis does it matter if they are males or females???

thanks all fish friends for your input u all been great!!!!

Inbreeding in cichlids is not something you need to worry about unless you are doing multiple generations down the line within the same 'bloodline'. By nature, cichlids are quite resilient to the negative effects of inbreeding.

I would add fish to the tank from least aggressive to most aggressive so that the lesser aggressive get established first. Ordering online can be pricey with shipping but it is the price you pay to get what you want sometimes. Dave's is worth the money - I've spent there and had him ship fish up to WI with nothing but perfect results.

28 fish to a 125 isn't too much IMO unless you are housing monster Malawians (which most of your stuff isn't). I wouldn't worry about the sexing of Synodontis. Excess males of what you are getting shouldn't be too hard to get rid of.

thanks for the heads up on everthing why_spyder!!!!!!! do u think weekley water changes of 30 to 40% is good?? or is that to much or to little?? also how many of each jevis would i need to buy tooo hope and get the rtios i want???

thanks
