12inch+ pleco aggressive

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I had a 12" common pleco that used to be aggressive to a larger Oscar and 10" Texas. The pleco would ram and chase. Is that what yours is doing? It never caused any harm, but just scared the other fish.

I had a ~10'' sailfin that a) pooped more than any other two fish I've ever had combined, and b) was incredibly aggressive.

He would knock around my turtle, of all things, and I started to worry he might grip the turtle and hold it underwater to the point of drowning.

So he's gone now, haha.

Any ideas how to get the veggie to the bottom and stay there??

I haven't had a pleco, but I used to put zucchini in for my fish. To make it sink to the bottom i would boill it for 5 mins or so and then let it cool before putting it in the tank.

Good to hear other people had problems with their sail fin plecs. Mine got straight up nasty! He would chase and attack my dominant flowerhorn which I thought he was crazy for doing. Had to take him to a field and put him down. Lol just kidding but I did trade him in for store credit.

slice of zuchinni, I peel the raw zuchinni, stick a fork through it, tie fishing line to the fork, tie other end to weight and place on top of the tank. It easy to retrieve the empty fork for another slice.

I slice a zucchini in half, half goes to my royal, the other half goes to my baby BNs. I just rubber band it to the driftwood. I tried the fork with my Royal. She refused to eat from it.
