Ive got the hood mocked up along with the stand. For the stand the joists are 2x8 and should definitely support the weight of everything although I'm contemplating running another beam flat on the floor and adding middle point supports to each joist for reassurance. Also on the top of the stand will lay 1/2 in plywood to to even everything up and help distribute the load.
The front portion of the hood I didn't finish drawing because basically it was a pain in the ass and I have never used the program before I started messing with this tank idea. But the goal is to have it split into two sections with acrylic viewing panes and handle on front to be able to raise it. Interior of hood will be dressed in 1/2 ply and coated with epoxy and exterior will be 1/4 filled with insulation.
I'm going to be buying everything in stages and may end up leaving the 1/4 skinning off for quite a while since it is not necessary and would save several hundred on upfront costs.
