That's a tough decision... I don't know when I'll find these tetras again with how rare they are, and I can't buy both atm with how expensive they are.
How big is the tank you're working with??? Maybe just maybe you could use something like a floater box with very fine mesh to cover any small holes to keep the baby shrimp inside, then the tank can be mainly used to house the fish???

I guess as a temporary solution it would work, but in the long run, most likely will need 2 setups... unless you dont mind only having a shrimp in a floater box..,

I could probably make the 4 gallon a shrimp tank depending on if the Scarlet Badis keep murdering them.

Fat Homer Fat Homer convict360 convict360 I found someone selling Phenacogrammus aurantiacus. He still has 8 left, which is exactly how many I'm looking for. What are your experiences with these? Are they okay with shrimp? Size? Care? Temperament?
I wasn't familiar with the latin name, they look like congo tetra...which are mostly peaceful but will pick off shrimp out in the open

I decided against those since they get so big (for a tetra), and chose to get a couple schools of smaller species instead.
