The paradise fish is similar, he only goes for the barbs if they are right in his face and then promptly half charges them and they go off. He has great colours as well
I've had blue gouramis chase Texas cichlids around.
My betta died overnight, poor thing had a slow decline over 2 months or so 
That does mean however I will have an open tank when I rehome the leftovers of my brothers fish I can redo the tank again
My one LFS imports thai bred ornamental bettas at reasonable prices so I definitely want to get one again. That or pygmy gourami or shrimp If i can find a few

I came across this tank for $28 and had to pick one up. It should make a nice planted nano with a betta and some shrimp.

Tank looks awesome!!! Also nice find on the driftwood. I would love a piece like that and haven't been able to find any.
