I'll probably try a couple of those.

What about a tank? I was only looking at the fluval 12g because it was an all in one and it was rather cheap. I didn't like the height though. If I do get one I would prefer rimless, and around 10 gal.

I may build my own. I was thinking 24 x 10 x 14.

If you're confident building it, it's definitely the way to go; that or get one built for you custom. Probably cheaper than you'd expect, depending on who does it; but the obvious benefit is getting something to exactly fit your needs.

For dwarf puffers, you could get a simple braceless tank on the cheap, then add a small hob and the clip on lights; sounds shoddy but I find it looks and works well :) then means more budget left to spend on a good substrate and plants

I found a site that charges $10 per sqft for starphire glass at 1/4". Is that a good price? After silicone it would cost around $90, or £69.

You could start a thread or post in here, would be great to see :)

I definitely appreciate you letting all of us piggyback on your thread. I will post some pics here once I start setting my tank up just because we have such a good discussion going.

Scratch everything I said before, Lepisosteus Lepisosteus hooked me up with a 16x9x9 rimless tank. Pretty much perfect size that I was looking for. I was also getting worried about access to the inside of the tank with the Fluval, even though its a nice looking setup.

So once I get in my new house (1 month!) I'll setup my tank.

I'm thinking:

- 16x9x9 tank
- black background
- black carib sea super naturals sand. Is this okay for plants and shrimp?
- not sure about deco yet
- looking at this for a heater

I think I can hide it in the sand??

- not sure what HOB to use. Think an aquaclear 20 will be too big/powerful?
Also could get this, but would prefer not to if I dont need to, its about an hour and a half drive for me.

Let me know what you think!

It is a really cool filter The LFS in my area gives me store credits every time I get something and I am up to $16 and when I am up to 30, I will have enough money to get a small rimless tank and that is the filter I am going to use.

Are there any similar filters, but smaller? I was thinking that I could get 2 for both of my 2.5 gallon tanks. I used to have a 10, but I was stupid and the tank broke as a result of it.
