The more I think about it the more I like the idea of building a stand. By building one I can customize the size to be whatever I want.Check ikea?

Do I have to use the Fluval branded c02? I can get some airsoft/pellet gun c02 in bulk for pretty cheap.

If you can jury rig co2 cheaply, it's a good idea; the Fluval is extortionate anyway, much cheaper getting a fire extinguisher for instance. Solenoid valves, are also your friend, as they can be timed to switch off at night
I'm just wondering if the threading is the same on the airsoft c02 as it is on the fluval. If it is then I can use airsoft c02, as it should be the same thing, just c02.
They are, but the last one I had; the digital reader didn't display properly for some reason, bit annoying!
Unfortunately one of the cheapo hobs from China has leaked on one of the nano tanks! That's what I get for buying cheap!
Replacements ordered, aquael mini's; just a heads up though for anyone that purchased similar to mine. Worked great for a month, but I think the seal has gone midway up
