They aren't "suddenly changing names". That name has been changed as have others, some more recent and some not. It is not a sudden broad sweep. Naming living organisms falls under the title of Taxonomy and it always changes along with our understanding. You will find some things to have more than one scientific name. One will be chosen as the preferred with the others as synonyms.
