Prices vary, generally you see them for $50 for a young specimen.

they grow extremely slow i think you should be fine. It would take at least 3 years for a baby one to grow that big.

If you want a smaller specimen that looks somewhat like a scarlet you could get a L114. Very nice coloration they usually only grow to 10in. (leopard cactus pleco)
