135 Gal Stocking?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's been a few weeks. Tanks all cycled now. Here's what I ended stocking with...
4 Green Terrors -- 2 inches
2 Sysnspilum -- 2.5 inch
2 Jack Dempsey -- 2 inch
4 Sajica -- 1 inch
2 Black Convict -- 1 inch and 2 inch
4 Pictus Cats -- 2.5-3 inch

I'm worried about the Sajica's, but they're doing fine so far. One Synspilum is chasing the other around a good bit--if that gets worse, one will have to go. I couldn't find any Chocolate's, and now I don't think they'll fit in with the current occupants. Same for Severums. I'm still wanting to get 5-7 Clown Loaches--think they'll fit? And one or two pleco's?

ETA: I'm feeding NLS Cichlid Formula and Tetra flakes. What else to feed for variety? And will any of these fish eat algae tabs?

just thin out "the heard" as you go along.. with that many fish there are sure to be aggression casualties as they get to adult sizes

That's what I was thinking, too. I can tell already that I won't be able to keep both Syns, and I can't see keeping all 4 GTs in this tank either when they get 4-6 inches. Probably one of the Jack's will need to move, too.

yes , you seem to have a good preliminary plan in place , just keep a close eye on who picks on who ,and adjust accordingly ....you will prob end up with 5 or6 happy fish(cichlids, cats should be ok)
