I had a fluval 404 for about 5 years never had a problem and gave it to a friend when i went saltwater for a while. Two 404's on a 135 water flow will be the least of his worries but you may want to invest in one of those fancy bio-wheel return pieces because the fast water flow and lack of oxygen in the canister will limit the beneficial bacteria. A tip for avoiding clogging is to stick to clean foods ( pellets, floating sticks) rather than dirty foods (frozen shrimp or other things free float in the water column). The only thing i have ever seen clog a canister filter was mysis shrimp and that was quite a mess.

Either way good luck and either way it is all a learning experience. :D

i got a fluval 304 and twin biowheels on my 45 and i hate the 304 i have to clean my bio wheel tubes every other week cause the fluval does not trap much debris im switching the biowheels to a power head and buying a eheim the two 75s will share a wet dry and the 90 and 180 will have there own wet dry and fbf
