Hmmm?
A few months back I bought a 135G tank and stand from mike (eh1421). Its been sitting in my living room, and I can't set it up until I move. (I know.. I really want to)

Anyways, it was stained a pretty light color, and just not my style. The stand design is pretty cool, and I'm excited to set up a 55Gal under it. Heres some pics of when he first made it.

I think the tank first belonged to rallysman.

I am tearing down the paneling and adding birch plywood which will be stained a much darker color. I am also re-doing the access door for the 55Gal. I am planning on making a canopy for the tank, although I really don't want to buy another sheet of plywood. I am going to match the current trim on the tank and see how it looks, but I have a feeling next to the birch it won't look too good. In that case, I will be buying molding to replace the current trim.

Had fun ripping the paneling off and removing about 100+ brad nails. The plywood is cut and the stain is drying. I'm gonna put atleast 2 coats of polyurethane on, and then hopefully it looks nice. I also am going to need some corner trim.

Getting there. Nice start. Keep us updated.

thanks guys, heres an idea i came up with for the canopy
first coat of polyurethane is drying on the plywood for the stand

the middle is just a piece of glass, and the sides open up. I didn't include handles or hinges in the rendering

thanks! haha yes, it was fun taking out all the brads
i'm probably going to put just as many back in..

I don't really have any filtration for it yet, I may get an XP3/XP4 and use 2 ac110s I have. I wish I could set it up ASAP, but I think I have to wait until april:wall:

I may be painting the back of the tank too, I have not decided. Hopefully coat 1 is dry and I can put the final coat on and then attach them. I really am not looking forward to spending $30 on trim, but oh well.
