Sorry to hear. :(

The more I read about large tanks cracking seriously make me want to tear mine down. Living in a small apt I occasionally go into panic attacks just thinking about it.

How thick is the glass? I thought I read somewhere that aquariums intended for public use like restaurants needed thicker glass?

You know I never measured it.... but I just did now and it was .5"

I got everything taken care of now, my brother had some extra wood lying around from a project he just got done with and we where able to make a wood frame and put a pond liner in it.

Sorry to hear that. Tons of water on the floor is never any fun... Just be glad you were home and were able to react immediatelly... I'm glad your fish were able to be saved. Are they all in good shape?

That's a pretty tall tank for that thickness of glass and water volume..

Did you have that RTC in it? I could see him busting it pretty easy..

yeah there was a rtc in it. I though he would of been able to make it a little bit longer till I did the one project tank.

So what do I put under big tanks to make it not vibrate from the train? I was going to make that 12'x8'x4'.... what can I put under that when I start it?

Yeah when I was thinking about it, we had a thunderstorm and this strike of lighting that was really close to the house, Im thinking that did it plus the fish might have freaked as well?
