13inch Jardini Arowanna And WolF fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I know they have a high level of experience, yet they have no social skills as they bash anyone who doesn't have the same level of understanding.... I agree that the stocking idea is quite ridiculous, but I give the OP advice rather than bash him and give no advice.

thank for the advise i posted the moray on in classifieds and on aquabid also and is there certain types of ca cichlids i should look for also i got a offer for a 12inch electric eel what do u think? Anyone have any experience with wolf and discus?

Hi, your arowana will work fine with the wolf fish at that size. The wolf fish is a Hoplias malabaricus right? if so you cannot have discus in that tank, eventhough its too big to fit into wolf fish's mouth, its still a risk. And cichlids a big nono, my Hoplias malabaricus has eaten a pair of full grown convict cichlids during spawn period and a jaguar, etc....
I would recommend arowana(silver+jardini all work fine), aligator gar, and be honest, i wouldn't recommend H.Malabaricus, though it is tougher than red/gold wolf fish, it doesn't move as much and kick your aquarium hood several times every night, making you unable to sleep. I recommend rainbow/red wolf fish, they are much more active, pretty, and fun to watch. If you are getting red/rainbow wolf, try removing discus and convert your wolf fish into shrimps, then add discus because discus are weak, its one bite K.O., once wolf are converted to dead food, they won't pick on targets that are not easy to fit into their mouth.

thank the one i am looking at is a red High fin Wolf Fish so i think he is the one great to finally find someone that has had experience with these fish

i think theres a difference between red high fin wolf fish and rainbow wolf fish. Before i thought they are the same, until one day i finally seen a vendor in MFK selling red high fin wolf and rainbow wolf, i think rainbow is a little prettier and red wolf $30 rainbow is between $30-$40. Some vendors sell them under both names "red high fin/rainbow wolf fish" but i think rainbow has a blue line below red on the high fin.

If your adding a Silver please for your own sake add two or three.
Im not brave enough to put a ray with a Jardini but feel free to try it.

sounds good also ordering a Ornate Bircher a fire eel and a few more discus after a while i want a silver arrow and a ray

Chance of a jardini and silver aro working together are very very low. If you do go with a silver and ray your gonna need to get a bigger tank.

your discus will end up being expensive fishfood! discus should be kept with peaceful community tankmates only. i wouldnt personally keep them with the arrow as they are quite skittish. you need to decide if you want discus or predators.....
