Have you tested your water?
Yes
If I did not test my water...
...I recognize that I will likely be asked to do a test, and that water tests are critical for solving freshwater health problems.
Do you do water changes?
Yes
If I do not change my water...

This is my 13yr old Midas. He seems to have developed what looks like a massive tumor that started appearing on one side and is now visible across his rear quarter body. He seems to be swimming and eating ok but no longer will accept algae wafers he's been gobbling up for close to 10yrs. Have you ever seen this? I noticed today his anal tube is poking out all the time now. Any advice or experience with this would be appreciated. Water conditions are all good and steady.

Nice looking fish. At 13 yrs of age, and no sign of swim bladder issues, I would guess that it may very well be some form of tumour. Unfortunately probably not a lot you can do. The other issue might be a start of prolapse due to the tumour hard to tell.

Good luck, looks like you have taken great care of him over the years.

Thanks. I've had him since he was the size of a grain of rice. Great wet pet. He bred with a festae a year ago and I've grown out 4 of his offspring.
