  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Okay, now that i can finally check out the photos at the comfort of home, i can see that the shrimp looks a lot better than i thought, especially in the larger pic... do they just require the same environment as regular CRS? or do they need different parameters?

-EDIT-

Forgot to say, thanks for the info on the lens, and again great shots of your shrimp...

Yes same kinda water parameter.:)

^ Thats cool... BTW, with you being in Asia, do you find you need a cooler on your shrimp tanks to keep the temp down? or do you use another method like fans over the tank?

I'm currently using chiller. Without chiller the water temp can hit 31'C:(

Yeah, thats why i was thinking since i know my tanks can hit close to 30'C in the summer if i don't turn my aircon on at home...

Also, just curious, what do you personally think about the fan method of cooling for people who don't want to spend a fair amount of money on a chiller, does it still work? or won't it be able to keep the water cool enough for the shrimp?

Coz i've heard mixed reviews about this over here, and seen as your from a tropical climate like me, you may have a better understanding of it will work or not...

Depending on weather also. If it's cold weather season using fan can achieve lower temp but if it's hot season the temp will never be as low. Thus if seaiously want to keep shrimps as a hobby, a chiller is a must unless your aircon is left on 24/7 IMHO.

^ Yeah, thats what i was thinking... i mean i have kept, and currently am keeping super red cherry shrimp which aren't posing too much of a problem with temperatures... but as far as CRS / Black Tigers and all those other cool shrimp go i don't think i want to risk losing the USD $110 per shrimp...

So for now i'll stick to admiring your photos and the tanks at the LFS'...

BTW, since your a shrimp keeper, have you or do you keep any sulawesi shrimp?
