holy ****.... what did you expect...... at the very least set him free already cus he is bonna die in there....

He probably won't die, but hope someone can adopt him..

channel cats are raised in captivity and released in the wild throughout the country.... I dont see the problem...., if it was a snake-head then we would have one...

Dude call up the local fish stores and ask if they will accept him. Most places will take a channel cat. The Petland discounts by my house always order in like 12-14 inch channel cats and they are gone in less than a week.

Just give it a shot ....

should never release captive fish because of pathogens, figured you would know that..................

Well the reason we are not suppose to release captive raised fish is because they acquire a bacteria in the aquarium that is not native to the wild. So what happens is that when you decide to release the fish back into the wild, that non-native bacteria tags along with the fish and makes its way into the water and creates havok. I am not sure what diseases it cause but I think there are a number of diseases that have began to kill local fish in the wild and its due to the release of these captive raised fish.

But in any case he'll be alright, theres always someone who needs a monster fish and then theres a monster fish who needs an owner!

I would love to take him! But I already have a 10 inch channel cat in a 75 gallon. So I already have my hands full and I will have to upgrade sooner or later and give my monster a bigger home.:naughty:

Just for the record, he just came out of a 8 foot tank. Like I said, this is his Jail for being a bad boy...

And I know better than to release.

Just thought I'd give someone a chance at a pretty nice fish...Good personality, TONS of energy, has been keeping my GG on his toes. My only real problem with him is he is a bit too pushy (Even compaired to other cats we have / have had in the past), and smart too.

Looks like he may be going back to the LFS, I just hate to do that (Not knowing what kind of home he'll be going to). I just had to choose between him at this size and a very small giraffe cat. I picked the giraffe...
