I have a 140 gallon tank, is there any polypterus species that could live there? (Not albino ones)
If so. Would they be able to live with my group of 3 fullygrown synodontis eupterus?

I wouldnt be afraid to put any poly in there. Although I think some of the bigger lower jaw species could be tight if they reach full potential and could potentially eat those synos

I really enjoy my Synodontis Eupterus group :) I dont want them eaten. If you know some of the smallest species, that arent albino :)

The delhezi looks wonderful.. But its grows to a size of 40 centimeters. Isnt that a little to big for such a tank, or is that only in the wild? And wouldnt a delhezi of that size eat a synodontis of 12 centimeters (For some reason all my synodontis stop growing at that size)

The Polypterus Palmas, look interresting, it seems to be the smallest. Is it more agressive than the others? Would it eat my 12 centimeters synodontis eupterus?

that tank should be good for upper jaw and should be good for most Lower jaws if you keep a limited amount. Polypterus in general will eat anything that can fit in their mouths. So if you want to keep the synodontis you have a couple options with polyesters. 1) you could just not keep them (which I do not recommend). 2) raise some smaller polys with the synos and take your chances. Or 3) Keep a smaller species. If you want to keep polys and synos I would recommend are senegals and mokelembembe. If you raise them small and wouldn't mind taking some chances I would recommend all of the Upper Jaws except the teugelsi, ornates, and weeksii. I would especially stay away from Lower Jaws if you want to keep polys with synos because lower jaws usually get bigger and are more likely to eat anything that can fit in their mouth. With the upper jaws they are more of the type that if you keep them well fed they should be a problem.

I love palmas palmas they are one of my favorite bichirs. The only upper jaws that have a history with aggression regardless of being full or no tank mates bothering them are ornates and that's not in every case. Palmas Palmas don't usually have any aggression. I have 4 and they are as peaceful as great looking as can be.
