I think Mike is saying what the usual, the norm is. Sure they'd eat small fishes under certain conditions. I observed even my koi do that. It is fair to say they are not predators and any fish eating is "normally" accidental at best.

Pterodoras granulosus grows to ~3'.

I agree with the suggestion of narrowing down the field. Too broad a query.

Lol yeah most fish are opportunistic. Ive caught grass carp on minnows and worms.

i have an 18inch ID shark you can have :P lmao
some may have bad temperaments or feed on live fish, mine is currently with 2 gold severums, 1 red shoulder severum and an oscar. it's the most docile of all in the tank at over double the size of the next biggest fish, the oscar.
it also was with a delhezi poly, juvie frontosas (7band, 6band, blue zaires), clown loaches of varying sizes including 1inch, various tetras (neon, zebra, bleeding heart, etc), as well as baby angelfish-fully grown.
maybe i got lucky with it, but it has never bothered, maimed, or killed a single fish.
they just grow large.

I have owned vulture and didnt see any signs of aggression at all. In fact most of the fish nipped its fins and it just swam away. Wasnt even territorial at all, but one thing it was is one of the most active eaters ive ever owned and very personable but with their teeth i would advise against hand feeding lol
