15 dovii

picked up 15 dovii today, big thanks to modest man for bieng the man who knows THE MAN! these dovii cam from a guy named Mel who has a dovii pair in a 600g, the male is 20" and we swore he was goona crack the tank with the brutal force he hit it with.

I just took a ruler to my forearm and I think he's more about 18". Could be 20" though, it's all just guesstimating.

Here's one shot I have to guesstimate size. Tank is 4' deep so it's still not perfect. I've got some other photos uploading, including exChichlasoma ornatum.

He gets a good 8' run at the end of the tank and pops it hard enough to make me jump. You can feel him hit the tank through 1/2" of acrylic. Most impressive fish I've seen in person.

grow em out in a 180, get a pair going. the pair wont be for breeding purposes but dovii display much better personality when they have a mate. the fry will be used as feeders. then i will put the pair in a 400g.

Here's another.

The hose on the left was either 1.5" or 2" in diameter. You can see his progeny below him, they're 2-3".
