reading through the titles of the first page of lounge threads.....what is the point of most ( if not all) of the threads in the lounge?

Simply put, the majority of the list is on the disgusting side. Which, if there was any truth to them would be OK (I assume). Your prior postings have always been very well thought out and you had excellent resources to back them. I only find this type of posting beneath you to be honest.

Having a resource to cite isn't creditable if the resource itself isn't credible. Many of the items in the list are subjective at best. No matter how many times I read that my toilet is cleaner than my desk top, there is no way in hell I am going to sit my balogna sandwich on the toilet rim and then eat. Yet, I would have no trouble doing that with my desk top.

The whole Martin Luther comment has been discussed elsewhere with sources simply quoting each other, but with no confirmed link to historical content (other than his beliefs that certain body functions were the soul's attempts to expel Satan).

The lady/dog story also hasn't been confirmed...but, there is a very similar story that has been confirmed. I will give you that one.

Urine entering through your salivia? Microscopic particles released as fumes I suppose. But the statement itself is misleading.

The Turkish woman, cat thing also seems to be an Urban Legend. There are several subjects around in regards to women of high power in that area during that time period.

But, you're right. It's the lounge. Anything goes. I only hope future posts are more along the lines of what I have learned to expect from you.

I admit, normally I love reading DavidW's controversial posts. He is a smart guy with a creative outlook. But, I truly do not see the point of this post. I will also admit that I reported it, twice even. I asked both times for it to be deleted. Nothing against the OP at all, but in my opinion, this isn't worthy of even the Lounge.
