Lookin good Alex. All you need is some rays and driftwood and that tank is really gonna be big pimpin.
Been thinkin about a ray or 2 but I'm just worried about the giraffe cat sucking up a barb or something and as far as the driftwood- you can blame the giraffe for that as well. He enjoys smashing it into the side of the tank

If you are dilligent, you can tell when the rays are going to shed a barb, just get it out of the tank quickly.
How can you tell, Jay? Coming from someone who knows Rays like you do it's probably easy to tell but someone like me, maybe not so much? Is there a behavioral change or can you see the barb physically become loose?
You see the second barb coming in, near the end they will have 2 full barbs, and the end one will start to look ragged. At that point just check every day if there are still 2 you are good, if there is one time to search.
