So I was up to no good (looking around at the lfs) and ended up buying a little 4-5" red cherry flowerhorn, with a nice sized kok and great finnage. I added him to my 320 of amphs, etc that I'm growing out. At first not much, the other fish just checked him out and he checked them out. I stepped away to take care of a few things on the computer and came back 15 minutes later to my trimac, whopping his butt... The trimac is only a tad larger, but torn him a new one quite quickly. I moved the trimac to the sump for now. I had an incident a few weeks ago where a festae's tail was bitten off and I think I may have found the coulprit. My question is, will keeping the trimac in the sump for a few days, rearranging the tank and reintroducing him possibly put an end to his terror, or at least ease it?

It might, how is the tailess festae doing?

Anytime I pulled a bully fish out for a couple weeks and moved things around as soon as I added them back they went right back to their old ways. Just my experience. GL

Actually well, he's back in the main tank cause the trimac is now occupying the sump.
.....and has any of the tail grown back?

Yeah the wound healed up though and he actually swims fine. Not the fastest fish anymore though...
