It does suck having to rehome fish especially one as nice as a trimac but i guess thats the nature of keeping cichlids. Im not trying to discourage who knows maybe it will work for you but every sinlge time i tried that with in a couple of weeks things went back to being problematic.

The whole changing decor thing always puzzled me because even if we disrupt their territories eventually new territories get established with the same fish being the most dominant/aggressive. Im sure others have had success with this though so good luck

I just did this when I added a flowerhorn and took out my trimac. It helps a lot because now they all are trying to find a new spot to be around.

Some fish are born natural born killers. I have flowerhorn that are docile to killers.

Lol, yeah this flowerhorn is a wuss. The trimac is just an *** with the jaws and muscle to back it up. It's seriously nuts, it even twitches...lol
