150 Community Tank

For Discus, you need an acid ph of 6-6.5 and a temperature of 75-80ish. Most people say you should keep them in groups of 5-7 (odd numbers are better). You need to keep the water clean, but as long as you are doing water changes and have adequate filtration you should be good. What kind of severum would you want? (gold, red, green?) You could also make it planted which would improve water quality and look awesome (even if you want to do a low tech planted).
You only have to worry about your ph with wild caught discus. If you get a tank bred strain from a reputable dealer (I'd highly recommend Hans), they'll be fine in almost any ph, so long as it is stable. If you get interested enough in that direction, shoot me a pm, and I'll point you to some folks who can help you with more info.

You could add Apistos or Rams to that.

Rich_One - Thanks for the info and offer. I will definitely keep that in mind.

Right now this is the stocking list I've come up with. I just need to know how many of each everyone would suggest for my 150:
Red Severum - 1 (Definite)
Other Severum -
Silver Dollars -
Buenos Ares Tetras -
Cories (what type would be good) -
Apistos / Rams -

Decided on just going with one severum (maybe a pair later).
Any suggestions on the amounts of the other fish I would like to add?

I picked up a school of BA tetras the other day and they are doing well in the tank. Couldn't pass up a good deal at the LFS that had them for $1 a piece, so I picked up 10.
I also talked to them about ordering me a male Super Red Severum, trying to pick him up around the first week in January.
What remains to be purchased are the cory cats (probably 5 Emerald), and then a few other small cichlids (thinking apistos or rams).
Decided there would be too much silver in the tank to add the silver dollars in with the BA tetras, so they have been cut from the list.

With all of that being said, does anyone have any suggestions on the type and amount of other cichlids to add with what I've listed? Thanks!
