oklahoma GO SOONERS!
hi everyone my question is thinking getting the 150 gallon tall I think is 2 feet wide and I would like to get trimac can I put a pair in there or what will be the other cichlids can I put with him/her ?Thank you for ur info

The bad thing about the 2' wide 150s is that they're only 4' long. A trimac male is going to get around 12" long and will be aggressive. You will not find many tankmates that will work in a setup like that. You could try something small like a couple male convicts and maybe some dithers / target fish like silver dollars. If it were me and I wanted a trimac in that size setup I'd go for a pair and nothing else.

Pair could work in that tank, make sure you have either a divider with a hole that the female can get through but male cant, or a flowerpot with a hole like that. Lets the female escape if the male gets too rowdy. You won't have much luck with other tankmates in a 4' tank.

Personally think you will have trouble.
I think a pair would be too much for that tank.
Male Trimacs are huge bulky and very aggressive.
I remember seeing an old pair Lee Nuttal had. They were at oddball aquatics.
They were massive and Ross, the owner had to keep them in separate tanks.
He was not short of large tanks either.
Try if you like but I would expect trouble.

The female from that pair is the one Andy woods has.
Agree with you, the male Andy has is now about 13 inch, over 2.5 lbs and still growing
