150 gallon stocking

Same issues you'd run into with a pair or trimacs. If they do fight it will not give the female much room to retreat or hide.
I agree.
I really think you need to look at smaller less aggressive species for long term success in a 4 foot tank.

The bad thing about the 2' wide 150s is that they're only 4' long. A trimac male is going to get around 12" long and will be aggressive. You will not find many tankmates that will work in a setup like that. You could try something small like a couple male convicts and maybe some dithers / target fish like silver dollars. If it were me and I wanted a trimac in that size setup I'd go for a pair and nothing else.
same here I did a mal

I did the same with a male and female Jag in a 150. the male got 13 and female got 10 and they were the only fish in that 150 gallon tank.

everyone thank you for all the info I am just going to retired from the big cichlids and learn the African cichlids trade thanks again god bless!
Africans suck, stay CA and SA you will not be happy with Africans. I tried it and went straight back to CA and SA.

They don't suck. we all have different tastes.
You may enjoy Africans more than c/a or s/a cichlids.
I find all cichlids interesting in different ways.
There are so many Africans and so many ways to keep them. People normally just think of mbuna but there is a whole world of variety.
African cichlids suck is a bit of a narrow brush stroke to paint. They can be just as enjoyable as any other cichlids if you like them.

I love Tanganyikans they're the cause of the mulitple tanks I have now (I'm blaming them not myself);) They all have very interesting and unique behaviors.
