150 gallon tank

Ok so my basement has a dropdown ceiling cause who ever had it before thought if they painted the wall with water sealent that it would never leak. So they tried finishing half of it. Now above the drop ceiling theres another ceiling made of some sort of drywall material or something. dont want to tear that all up to take pictures. What Ive decided to do is use basement floor jacks to support the joists its will be setting on they look like this. http://www.ptfsupply.com/Vestil-FJB150-Basement-Floor-Jacks/M/B0027YKLFG.htm Now I'm plaining of getting a 6x2 or something and laying it on the joists them putting the jacks direclty over the joists that the tank will be setting on. Now I have two places I could set the tank. One place it would be setting parallel to the joists so it would only be setting on one or two. The other spot it would be intersecting with the joists so it would be setting over several joists over a 6 foot span. Which do you guys think would be best since I'm using jacks parallel or intersecting or does it matter. Either way I'm planning on using three jacks one on each end directly under a joist and then on towards the middle. Would this work or would I want to use more. Also do you think the 2x6 would be good to use rather then putting the jack directly on the on the joist or do you think a bigger board would be better.

The person who had this tank before said that they have had it since Feb and they bought it brand new in a petstore. They have it on the first floor that also has a basement. They never support the joists they didnt know they had to. They still have it set up with water and fish in it. Should I be worried since the didnt have have it set up with a support floor. Do you think they tank could be damaged in any way. Like I said it hasnt even been sat up a year and it was brand new and it still has water and fish in it
