You still need the following:...... add 2 power heads, 3 airstones, lime juice from 4 limes and 2 table spoons of baking soada and don't for get to hook up a UV sterlizer. this will clear up your water right away and keep it crystal clear. you will never see cloudy water again with this set up.

That sounds like an old household remedy ;) You don't even know the guy's water parameters nor filtration ....

liquidic42000,
please provide us with as much info about your tank as possible, such as

- tank size
- fish (species, size, number)
- feeding habits (type of food, amount, frequency of feeding)
- type of filtration (incl. media)
- tank mainentance (water change intervals, filter cleaning intervals)
- lighting (type, age of bulbs, Watts, duration)
- specify daylight exposure (direct light for how long during the day?)
- water temp
- pH, GH, KH
- ammonia
- nitrate
- nitrite
- iron
- conductivity

Without any info, I'd say you just have to wait a bit and be patient. After 4 weeks, your tank is still not biologically stable.

its 150 gallon 3 hob filters set up for 4 weeks 83 degrees ph is 7.2 nitrate is about 60ppm ammonia is .25 i have them big uv lights that come with the tank tank cleaning about once to 2 a week. and i have a tiger shovel nose cat pacu silver dollar oscar . sucker fish. 2 chanel cats. lace cat. small bumble bee cats. blood parrot please help

i tested my nitrate and it was reading really high like 100 ppm will that make my water murky and greenish tint. i have chemicals that will help the nitrate. or do i just need to let it cycle

1) If this is about the same tank, please let me know and I will merge :WHOA: ;) ;) ;) the two threads. Is the 100 ppm before and 60 ppm after water change?

2) You should measure your tap water nitrate levels and increase water change volumes and shorten intervals.

Thanks,

if the nitrates are that high then the tank should be cycled and you can start doing water changes. have you tested the ammonia and nitrites? if the nitrates are that high then the other 2 should be back down to 0. that's how you know for sure your tank is cycled. :grinyes:
