I have Just acquired a 150g salt tank with a domino damsel and a tang. It came with live rock covered in dead feather duster worms and a deep sand bed (5-6 inch) which was dirty with dead feather duster worms as well  and i am working on a plan to fix it so here it is and let me know if it will work or not. I plan to introduce Cerith snails to plow the deep sand bed and 6 pacific scarlet cleaner shrimp (lysmata amboinensis) to eat all the debris of the rock. Will this work and is there a better species for cleaning these conditions?

a little input please...anyone?

rinse live rock and live sand? I can't imagine doing that... beside i already cleaned it to the best of my abilities without rinsing to preserve the beneficial bacteria and live feather duster worms. BTW How many snails would you recommend and shrimp to stock a 150?

K its 6:30 any input?

If the feather dusters are dead but still "around" I would suggest some carnivorous scavengers i.e. bumblebee snails.

Though I think a fresh start is a pretty good idea.

depending on how much live rock you have I would put in crabs reds or blues if it is a full 150 full of live rock (200+lbs) I would put in 100-200 crabs 50 at a time and 50 snails with the first set of crabs good luck but the crabs will have it cleaned up in no time do at least 10% water a week until it is fixed. good move on buying someones stuff it is usually a good way to get a good amount of stuff for cheap I acquired a ton of live rock with hair algea and fixed it up before, best of luck
