I would get some large predatory haps. African malawi cichlids. Check out tyrannochromis and buccochromis haps. You could do a nice trio of these guys plus some smaller deep water haps. There would be a lot of blue in that tank. LOL Pls some cool synodontis catfish.

I would would do a CA/SA cichlid tank with some nice size clown loaches or get a frontosa colony for the tank if you like africans

Exactly what I'm actually going to do with mine: LMB, blue cat, common carp, white bass and a pack of pumpkinseeds. I'm going to try a trout but I don't expect it to survive. I also have a pleco for cleanup duties. The beauty of this setup is that when my fish get to big, with the exception of the carp, they become dinner. I love natives so this works for me!

If it was me I'd do a pair of large CA/SA's. Like festae, jags, lyonsi, our whatever strikes your fancy. P.s. Sorry for your loss.
