I have a 150 tall currently set up with two fluval 405s. Stock is two oscars a lima and a sen poly. I am thinking about up grading my filtration for when my oscars get bigger they are currently 4-5 inches. I was thinking fx5 but not too many days go by on here there isnt someone with problems with them. So any thoughts

Plus 2217 is reliable, I don't have any experience with an FX5 but I do like my 2217. Not sure if you'd rather have the one and have less maintenance or have 2 or 3 2217s and have them running and not have to worry if one fails.

I do like 2217s i have one on my 90. Kinda wanted to get away from multiple cans. Do you think two would be enuf

Try looking at the Aquatop CF 500 Series, huge filter, good flow, tons of media choices. Run that along with current filter would cover it.

for that stocking level you might get away with 1 can and 2 ac110's(*even start with 1 ac ...it MAY be enough..)...:popcorn:

I love my fx5. Kept the water clear and pristine on my 240 with 14 frontosa 12-15". U can find them under $200 used. I highly recommend it.
