Very nice!

Very cool pond! I just did a pond similar to yours. About the depth comments...it would be a bigger concern if you were in a colder climate, but in California you don't have anything to worry about. I am in a much colder climate and my fish have been fine in ponds that have 14" depth...and that is with the pond freezing over completely. I don't know what you plan on stocking it with but I would stay with standard goldfish instead of koi considering the depth.
Nice job on the waterfall too, looks great!

I think there is more concerns than in a cold state. In a sunny state like CA, the sun will be heating up that black liner so close to the surface, raising the water temps way beyond what typical cold-water pond occupants would like. Its going to make it difficult to keep algae under control, the fish alive and the water level stable due to a lot of evaporation.

In cold states, the main worry is whether it'll freeze to the bottom.

That is a good point. I wasn't thinking about the heat.

Luckily, it would be a simple matter to move some rocks aside, peel back the liner, and do a some more digging.

Great work guys, I agree that you should have gone deeper, filtration details?

first of all, i love your pond, i want one exactly like it. but here in florida, a pond that shallow would heat up to the point where it would boil the fish. i would seriously consider pulling back the rocks and liner and digging it out more.
