1500 gallon saltwater tank

The only affordable idea, using household rated hot water heater, might be done with it being used with a heat exchanger, built for cooling inboard boat engines.
You can find used ones on ebay in the 50.00-200.00 price range.

Are you going fish only, or with corals?

I have 100 gallon I'm doing coral in and I was thinking just doing a few aggressive fish in the big tank.

That will cut back on 1000 watts of heat from lighting.

A heat exchanger, might be the ticket. Depends on if you want the room cooler.
Sharks, can take cool water. D

That's what I was thinking . I would really like to see about 2 sharks and a few stingrays maybe. I had stingrays years ago and they were so beautiful in my tank. I really like the black tip sharks as well.
