Maybe look at south American cichlids?
A chocolate cichlid would make a nice larger centre piece, they are pretty peaceful for there size.
You could add a few festivums as your smaller cichlids. You would also be able to add some catfish like Pimelodus or hoplosternum or maybe some pleco species like ancistrus.

Maybe if you could get the chocolates to work. They can high have conspecific aggression.
