Ok, so I will be moving into my own place soon and i plan on buying a 150gal. now this will be my biggest tank to date (55 being my tank now). I really would love to move my oscars from my 55 to the 150, but im also wondering what other fish yall think would be good in this environment. i really like cichlids, but i also like rays. Im in a toss up for what to get so lmk what yall think!

and for filtration, what would yall think would be the best?? im willing to build a sump so what ever size tank yall think would be the best, lmk that also.

Thank fellas and laidies

If you want to keep the oscars, I'd just go for a stocklist of other South American cichlids and leave the rays out. try severums, large acaras, or even some of the more mild aggression Central Americans (avoiding RD, Parachromis, etc) and there's plenty of compatible new world cichlids

hmm, now i dont think anywhere around me sells those fish, and im a little skeptical about online orders. is it worth it to go online and order??

if there's a petco, petsmart, etc near you they carry plenty of cichlids compatible with your oscars

and if i were to not stock the tank with cichlids, would stocking it with aro's or discuss be ok??

A 150 tall makes a nice discuss tank. I don't think it is big enough for aro's.

id really like discus, but i stil like cichlids.

question, where does everyone get this HUGE driftwood!!??!!?!? i want a piece lol

Works out good then because discus are cichlids. Do your research though because the care requirements are well above average.

discus are a ton of work, tank wouldn't be big enough for an aro, and nobody has asked this, but you said oscar(s) so how many exactly do you have?
