150XH In Wall Build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I built my sump from a 40b. I stressed out on this a bit and in the end I think I over complicated it but I think it will work out well.

I'm using a Modular Marine 1600gph ghost overflow. I drilled the tank on the side wall. One thing I wish I had done was drill the tank for the return line. As it is, I had to go over the trim with pvc for the return. Here is the sump in place and plumbed.

You can see that I have changed the color of the wall from the original yellow, to a light grey. My wife and I really think that changing the color really helped to define the space.

I still need to add a permanent lighting solution. Currently it's lit by a 4', twin tude, T8 shop light.

Overall I am really pleased with the overall results.

I want to give a shout-out to Stanzzzz7 Stanzzzz7 for his inspiration and insight on scaping. The tank will home SA Cichlids, and I tried to implement some of the techniques he posted about for a more natural Amazonian aquascape. I do plan to add a few select plants and some leaf litter to complete the look.
