Aaaaaand now I'm researching the Rio Guapore to set up my biotope for MY 15g lol... Got a pair of Bolivian Rams that would look great..

Awesome tank as always!

Do it! I've had bolivians in the past and loved them kinda like little geos.

Thankyou very much!

Great job as usual Grant! Keep us posted!

Thanks Wade, I certainly will. The pair seem to be showing signs of breeding already so I guess they like their new home!

Thankyou :)
I went for a lesser common species of apisto as I believe they are a better suit for a biotope. Plus their behaviour is much different to a more commonly bred tank raised species (no disrespect to anyone here). My little bro has cacatuoides - they have huge mouths!

Yeah definately, mines more of a first attetempt at breeding and No offense taken lol and yeah they definately have huge mouths

I had to put a mirror in to get a good shot. Cruel I know. But MFK needs pics!

I really like their color Grant. I bet they will make some great looking offspring. Don't feel bad about the mirror, I get my best pics of Shamrock when he sees his reflection in the side of the tank!

Thanks Wade. I am hoping they will seal the deal soon enough. I am conditioning the female at present but no luck as of yet. Well the reason I felt bad was because he would ferociously bang at the mirror. It's funny because I put the mirror in with my stals and even the small ones could knock it flat while brucey couldn't even shake it. It's only when you have something to compare size to that you realise how big your fish are!

Well I thougt I'd do an update on these:

As you can see the plants are filling in really nice. I think it's a combination of substrate and light intensity. They do a fantastic job of lowering nitrates. Always below 5ppm and usually untracable. I LOVE it. The algae has become a slight issue on the glass, which you can probably see. So pleasedo excuse. I am refraining from removing it because the Apistos have eggs. Under the leaf on the leftthe female has a small batch of 20 or so. I can't tell if they're fertilised or not so for the time being I amjust leaving them be. The algae will be for the fry to graze on - should I get any. Some of you may notice a penguin tetra in there, well there is 5 of them. I am growing them out for the 135. As they are still fairly small.

I will be sure to give you some more pics when I get chance. :)

Looking good. Do you use any ferts or anything for your plants Grant?
