17" Fire Eel

This is my 2nd FE. I would like to comm two of them together. what do yall think? They will be in my 360G. As of now only the 17 incher is in the tank. The other is 8-10" and having tough time feeding him. I have a earthworm culture. But prefer to shift it to some shrimp diet. Hope I'm successful

Beautiful fire eels!!
Mines only 16 inch but only eats night crawlers, I tried with shrimp but its hard ;(

I remember my old eel took me close to i think 6 months + to get him onto market prawns... but from there, it started taking scallops, prawns, and mussels without problem...

I think after a while, it started to associate whatever i was holding in my hand with food... so maybe try hand feeding your eel or with a pair of tongs might help a little?

As for co-habing two Fire Eels; i can't remember if it was a good idea or not, since i remember that its either the tire track eel that cannot be mixed with one other, or if it was the fire eels, or maybe they just couldn't be mixed with each other?

Man, i'm starting to confuse myself, so hopefully some one with some knowledge will drop by and share their experience...

Yea... TT and FE are not a good mix. But as I have read even FE's don't com well together. If so, then the lil guy I will be offloading... I hope to get some guidance from here if at all it is possible.

nice eel i have a 17" fire eel in with my 14" Black spotted eel they got along fine.

Nice Eel. Mine only eats market prawns/shrimp and how I switched him was I had him eating ghost shrimp and then I just switched to shrimp and he ate it. I wish I could get mine to eat earthworms.

Yep. I was feeding the live Ghost Shrimp out of my hand. I think this helped a lot because he now associates my hand as a food source and takes shrimp, tilapia, and the occasional beef heart from my hand.
