I have been hand feeding my 10" FE with earthworms. Its been 6 mnths now. Still wouldn't take anything other than EW's. one stubborn guy I must say...

comming them.. imo is a potential disaster... raising 2 together that get along from the start might work.. even when i commed 3 they scuffled from time to time.. and I've never commed 2 of the larger species longer then a few monthes successfully... they get extreamely territorial between 1-2yrs of age ime no matter what species of spiney.

and one of the few fish i def think hand-feeding is beneficial to do.

Tried giving earthworms and shrimps... Not taking any... Guess it is a long wait....

When mine is on a strike, which is a week or two. So I just peel a whole garlic then get chopsticks to put it beside the FE nose for few minutes then throw it away. Usually or always it eats immediately... Got this from other vendors here on MFK hope this helps.

Oh when I feed I use a stick and poke the earthworm and give it to the FE but it will usually eat out of my hands. To me FE are always going to be tame when hitting 12-30"

Thx...

The younger one that I have takes the EW from my hands. When I tried giving the shrimps he did not accept. But the big fella I guess is just getting used to the whole new environment.
