He might be fine in your setup since you got a bigger tank. he just doesn't like other colorful pikes. There is a lot of jealousy going on as to which pikes looks better.:D Other than that he is a pretty chilled fish.

Ah, then yes. I've drooled over this particular fish before. Unfortunately, he's still in that size/predation limbo where he's too big for one tank's in habitants and way to small for another's. He's freaking awesome.
 
Would look good in the 500g...

Bump for an awesome fish, red pikes are easily one of my favorites in the hobby.
