The fish tank's background colour can play a part how well the fish will display their colour in there. I'm a white light user thus all my pictures are taken with white lights. It help to bring out the nature colour of the fish not tinting it with colour.

You can also try out this method. I have seen silver and jar been kept in such condition till they are big and their colour is beautiful.

But sad to say, once mine start to outgrow the tank, it will be shifted into my black tank which is very much bigger.

Give it a shoot. Just don't use pinkish tube for the tank. A cool white will do.

any specific brand you might recommend or that you use? i have a coralife T5 fixture, looking for some nice bulbs to get.

Dude, I can teach you to achieve this kinda effect on a regular jar. Just keep them in a white tank with just white light.
