That is by far one of the coolest things I've seen for a long time. I'd really enjoy seeing some close up pictures of the chameleons and the frogs, if you have them.

That's awesome man. Can anyone just get those frogs or are they outlawed in certain states.

Not outlawed anywhere that I know of. They are fairly delicate and require certain conditions to thrive.

So goood. A baby caiman would perfect this tank.

I thought of that but then it becomes a species tank. I wanted more of jungle biotope replication showing diversity.
Plus the caymen could scratch the acrylic.

I have to say that's amazing. That is EXACTLY what I want to do when I get my next house with a basement.

I will say I read that article about your reef tank, and I can't possibly imagine how you became bored with it!

I have ADD- I get bored easily!
This system is on the main floor. The area beneath the tank is built on a solid foundation to support the weight of the water. I calculated overall weight up to 14 tons.

WOW WOW WOW had to say it three times! That's the best set up I have ever seen! I love the elevated land area. You maximize swimming area for the rays.
Dumb question: How do you keep the front viewing panel so clean? There's not even a water line? Do you clean it daily? or the RO system makes it easier because there's less dissolved solids? or my guess, you just cleaned it right before the pictures

The tank is misted 5 times daily with a mistking system using RO only water. All the sprinklers aim away from the veiwing panels and I am careful to keep any spray off the glass. The stingray does an incredible job of splashing the front pane though! BTW I usually clean the glass once every week or so.

I think this is the prettiest tank I have ever seen! I would love to hear more details on the set up. How you attached the land masses and set all that up, what type of plants you have in there, are they all live plants etc? I couldn't hear enough about this. I've been wanting to something like this but obviously on a much smaller scale though. So any info you would like to share on the set up would be really appreciated.

This is by far the best set up I have seen. The way you were able to integrate both wet and dry is truly amazing. You went I was wowed when I followed the link to when it was reef and that alone would have blown everybody's mind. Congrats to having the best tank on here so far (IMO).

I mostly used natural materials but used certain building principles from my reef keeping days to construct the land masses.

its like something i always kinda wanted to do except i wanted it as if you took a chunk out of some river all the bugs, fish, and other amphimpan reptiley things to make a complete ecosystem .

and are those life plants?

Real plants and that was the idea behind it- take a chunk out of a river. I even stocked the system with aquatic bugs- but they became fish food.

I think you are talking about the upside down Leo. It likes to hunt crickets, guppies and whatever it can get from the surface of the water.
