Now thats a bit too much mate. Linve cats het far too big for your tank. 2 ft wide is no where near enough.
Ive seen big lynnx cat in a 1000g and evem that looked cramped.

Hi All,

I'm purchasing my first Asian Arowana this weekend and would just like to know if there are any things I need to know when it comes to transporting him? he only has a 2 hour max journey in my car.

Its a 18" High Back Red Tail Golden Arowana and is the most expensive fish I have ever purchased so don't want to make any silly mistakes.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers
Sam

Don't use a net don't put directly in the poly box

Get big bags
Then get a metal coat hanger and bend that into a loop

Then wrap the bag around the loop

Make the aro swim throw the loop into the bag and close the bag fast before the aro turns

Then you need to drain water out of the bag with a hose or it will be to heavy to lift out of the tank

Once you put and remove the hose be very careful as aro seam to be able to find and jump out of the smallest gap

DON'T USE A NET as you stand a good chance of braking barbels or even worse a front fin which will never heal right

I have bagged over 20 aros this way and trust me its the way to do it

Trust me lince cats get massive and fast

They was to big even for my 8x6

They need 12 or 10ft long

Cheers T1, if I ever have to move him I will remember that... Giles caught him and bagged him for me, all I had to do was float the bag for a bit and then release him. easy peasy.

@ Andrewsin, I will get some photos up this evening, will start an update thread as a few people have asked me for photos. just gotta take some decent ones. heres a quick teaser video though

I thought about grabbing this from Giles too, is a lovely fish.

The lince are fantastic as well but as mentioned, are pretty demanding, they're so active.

If you watch T1's video's on you tube you'll see how active they are and how easily they can cover a 8' x 6' foot print
