i can post the pics in about 1 hour or so. as far as how long did it take to reach 18''. I could only guestimate it's size prior to that. I would have needed a very large net to catch him. Also the amount of water that would have been splashed out of the tank, not too mention the stress on the fish, discouraged me from doing it. After the disaster, I just was so disgusted that I got rid of everything. After seeing some dats on youtube, I am again considering getting another set-up. Another factor was the cost of feeder fish and the inconvenience of having to get them. There is not a reliable source in this area. I was encouraged to find out [from MFK] that people were able to ''starve'' their fish into eating pellets and other non live foods. I would like to learn more about that process. Also, I am curious about other people's experience with Datnioide longevity and maximum size attained. I have more photos and a video. I transferred the video to dvd-r. Does anyone have any pointers on how to upload the video? I assume I will have to transfer that segment onto my pc first.
