18 inch Silver Aro

Picked him up at the pet store. Wasn't doing so good. Still wanted him because I was up the night before watching arowanas eat mice on youtube.
when I got him home he settled in the tank pretty good. Didn't eat for a month!!! Then i finally got him to eat some fresh shrimp. Now he eats like a pig. Fresh and frozen shrimp, crickets, freeze dried krill, frogs, live pinkys, king crab legs

He eats like a pig. He's eating really good now. In a month or two he might be a fat boy!!!

lol told you. i can judge an aro by the size of his head. it tells a lot in age and length. i was off by an inch tho, but get him pumped he'll be 18" in no time.

How old does my aro look? don't know just got him about 2.5 months ago.

from my experience, he looks no more then 7 months old. maybe 8... they start puttin on good weight around 18" and after the 1yr mark. til then they look like yours, get longer but still look young. after the 1yr they start getttin fatter n start lookin older

I thought he would be like 1.5 to 2 years old. Maybe thats why he still eats like a pig!
