That's what she said! Sorry I had to! lol Thanks man.

lol, well some good news is that I am going to be cleaning tanks at some of the local stores around here for some extra cash on the tank build. Also might start giving plasma that would give me an extra $220 per month. That means I can have my tank built sooner than I thought, that plus preparing skeletons for some members.

plasma huh? talk about dedication! everyone who's read this thread should send you a dollar each. in return we would require unlimited pictures and videos of the behemoth.

Necro, you inspired me to do some scrap metaling of my own. I made $120 on my lunch hour this week! We were doing a massive cleanup at work, resulting in a bunch of aluminum and lead that was gonna go in the mixed metal bin. Minezo!

I find myself wishing there was more stuff made of aluminum now though... Steel has a 500lb minimum an dit only gets $50/ton.

Copper is the way to go. First time we took in about 20 lbs at $3.30 per pound. Metal prices sucked the second time we took in 60 lbs of copper and only got $2.00 per pound. So $120 for 60 lbs, but me and redtailnobs split it in half. His half is a little bigger than mine since he has 4 kids. The scrap guy also buys antlers so I got $7.50 each for a set I had. lol Definitely going to give plasma probably tomorrow if I can, and again on saturday so that I can get $55.

Steel sux, I took in about 300 lbs and only got like $6.00. I usually take about 7 lbs of cans every time. They pay about .50 per pound. Takes 48 cans to make a pound if anyone is interested. I help a guy take in over 400 lbs of cans. you do the math lol. I'm pushing hard to get the funding to finish this project within the next monthish time frame. Need to get that acryllic ordered soon.

Hey if the thread goes over 540 posts it will contain 1% of all the posts in the diy section lol. Way more people have viewed it though. There is something intriguing about building a large tank. It's everyone's dream on here, but I had to realize that I wasn't getting rich enough to build something super expensive right away so I had to find another way to do it. Luckily I can look to another hobby for a source of income to fund this tank(hopefully) ...
...

I just came across this thread. Wow! I think the intrigue is due to the fact that you are building the tank yourself (apparently with no extra hands)

Your RTC has a nice color indeed ^^ lots of red showing through
